Job Description

We are looking for a Fire Protection Engineer for our Life Sciences organization local to our Cary, NC/Conshohocken, PA/Cincinnati, OH/ or Indianapolis, IN office who is excited about working on projects that enable the heart of our clients' business. You'll be responsible for the design of the fire protection and fire alarm scope on our projects while also ensuring building and fire code compliance and client and insurer safety standards are met. Examples include Water Spray/Sprinkler, Clean Agent, Fire & Gas Detection, and Fire Alarm system designs. You'll be a part of diverse multi-discipline teams allowing you to both share what you know and learn so you can grow. - Bachelor's Degree in Fire Protection, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related Engineering
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or ability to obtain within six months of hire preferred
- 4+ years technical experience in a fire protection engineering or a consulting role involving fire protection and fire alarm systems for industrial facilities
- Working knowledge of building and fire codes, and NFPA and FM design standards
- Understanding or applied use of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD or MicroStation, and Revit/Revit MEP Ideally, you'll also have:
- Ability to perform engineering responsibilities with independence and as part of a larger team
- Ability to review and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and design staff
- Ability to communicate technical subjects clearly amongst peers, clients, and stakeholders
- Prior experience on projects as discipline/technical lead
- Desire to work on a variety of project types, sizes, and complexities
- Support knowledge of PHA/HAZOP, Dust Hazard, Dispersion, Explosion mitigation analyses, or the ambition to learn once onboard LifeSciences, #Bio/Pharma, #EPCMV, #globallifescience LI-SH1 Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
