Job Summary:
This role involves reviewing Safety PLC logic and electrical schematics to ensure compliance with OSHA standards. The candidate will work alongside specialized vendors and oversee third-party validation partners to maintain technical accuracy. The position focuses heavily on auditing, redesigning, and validating safety control systems and implementing corrective actions.
Responsibilities:
Audit Safety Control Systems (SCS) for compliance with ISO 13849 and
ANSI B11
standards Identify and document non-conformities in safety system designs Design, implement, and validate countermeasures Review and modify Safety PLC logic and safety circuits Develop project schedules, milestones, and KPIs Manage third-party consultants and validation teams Lead cross-functional communication to resolve issues Provide project status updates to stakeholders Perform troubleshooting, audits, and implementation activities Support and mentor internal teams
Required Qualifications:
Functional Safety Certification (TÜV Functional Safety Engineer or equivalent) 5+ years of experience in functional safety engineering in industrial or automation environments Technical Associate's Degree or higher in a related field Strong knowledge of
ISO 13849-1, ANSI
B11, and safety standards Experience with Safety PLC programming (reading, modifying, configuring logic) Strong understanding of PLC communication protocols and system integration Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint Preferred /
Bonus Skills:
Experience with risk assessment tools Knowledge of
FMEA / FMEDA
methodologies Experience with Safety PLC platforms such as: Allen-Bradley GuardLogix Siemens TIA Portal / Step 7 (Safety) Omron Sysmac Safety Keyence GC Configurat or Toyopuc PCWin Safe NIT01
Pay:
$70.00 - $75.00 per hour
