Job Description

Position Overview This position is posted for contractor conversion purposes for a Safety Engineer Sr . Responsibilities Develop, implement, and continuously improve, health and safety programs to ensure regulatory compliance and operational excellence Conduct routine safety audits and workplace inspections, identifying risks and driving corrective actions through closure Lead incident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and ensure effective preventive measures are implemented Partner closely with production, maintenance, and medical teams to support safe and efficient operations Deliver engaging training on emergency response, hazardous materials handling, and safety procedures across all levels of the organization Serve as a point of contact with external regulatory agencies as needed Support workers' compensation case coordination and reporting activities Monitor industrial hygiene and occupational health programs to ensure ongoing compliance and risk reduction Recommend and track corrective actions for identified health and safety hazards Contribute to project-based initiatives requiring independent judgment and technical health and safety expertise Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of environmental health, fire safety or safety experience OR Master's degree and no experience OR At least 3 years of environmental health, fire safety or safety experience Additional Requirements Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. We do not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status) Desired Skills Strong working knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance standards (federal, state, and local) Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or similarly regulated environments Proven ability to conduct investigations, analyze findings, and implement effective corrective actions Strong communication and training skills with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization Ability to build effective working relationships across operations, engineering, and support functions Sound judgment with the ability to operate independently within defined procedures and policies Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Familiarity with industrial hygiene principles and workers' compensation processes is highly preferred Benefits and Compensation This position offers competitive market-based compensation, along with a comprehensive benefits package designed to support employee wellbeing.
