Description
- Design, engineer, and oversee the installation of plumbing and fire protection systems for commercial, institutional, industrial, and government facilities, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Conduct field surveys and assessments to evaluate existing plumbing and fire protection systems.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other project stakeholders to develop design specifications and ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations.
- Prepare technical specifications, new work plans, demolition plans, riser diagrams, schedules, and details using software tools such as AutoCAD and Revit.
- Perform design calculations to ensure system performance and accuracy.
- Review project budgets and timelines and recommend alternatives for implementation based on cost-effectiveness and feasibility studies.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and other team members.
- Conduct on-site inspections and oversee the construction of plumbing and fire protection systems, verifying compliance with engineering standards and practices.
- Stay up to date on new technologies and trends and participate in industry associations and events to network with peers and stay connected to industry best practices.
- Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations.
- Prepare reports and presentations for project stakeholders, including senior management and clients.
- Work with Vendors on equipment specifications and selections.
- Coordinate with other in-house engineering disciplines as needed.
- Use AutoCAD and Revit software to design plumbing and fire protection systems and set up new projects for the team.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 Suite (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for documentation and presentation purposes.
- Work independently and in a team environment to deliver high-quality work and meet project deadlines.
- Willingness to travel as required for project execution including site surveys and punch-list / field observations during Construction.

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- 5-7 years of professional experience in an engineering.
- Understanding of Construction Documents, particularly MEP/FP drawings and specifications.
- Understanding of building systems and how they integrate (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Experience with Bluebeam.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools (Teams, SharePoint, Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and manage time efficiently.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and trends in the industry.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide junior team members.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
