Job Description
Fire Protection Engineer responsible for fire sprinkler, suppression, fire alarm, mass notification, fire pump, and life safety code analysis for building projects. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Safety Technology, or related discipline 10+ years of related professional experience Work authorization in the United States without current or future employment visa sponsorship Experience with fire sprinkler system layout Experience with fire suppression system layout Experience with fire alarm system layout Experience using hydraulic calculation programs Knowledge of NFPA codes and standards Knowledge of ICC codes and standards Knowledge of International Building Code requirements Knowledge of International Fire Code requirements Ability to travel to job sites as needed Preferred Skills Professional Engineer license in any U.S. state Passed Fire Protection Engineering examination Experience designing fire sprinkler systems Experience designing special hazards suppression systems Experience designing fire pumps Experience designing fire alarm systems Experience designing mass notification systems Experience performing building and life safety code analysis Experience directing design staff Experience producing fire protection drawings and calculations Responsibilities Support fire protection engineering for building projects across multiple markets and regions Direct design staff in the preparation of fire protection drawings Direct design staff in the preparation of fire protection calculations Support design of fire sprinkler systems Support design of special hazards suppression systems Support design of fire pump systems Support design of fire alarm systems Support design of mass notification systems Perform building code analysis Perform life safety code analysis Apply NFPA, ICC, International Building Code, and International Fire Code requirements to project work Review fire protection design deliverables for technical accuracy and code compliance Support completion of fire protection engineering project deliverables
