DE Engineer Production

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Production Engineer will be responsible for locating causes of poultry production and layer equipment malfunction, repairing broken parts and engineering preventative maintenance activities for both buildings and equipment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Develop, coordinate, and monitor all aspects of layer production facility and maintenance.

Ensure that all layer production facility machinery, systems, infrastructure, and equipment run optimally with minimal downtime.

Investigate and troubleshoot equipment malfunction and make recommendations for improvement.

Recommend repairs and/or replace defective equipment and/or parts following malfunction.

Clean, maintain, repair, and lubricate production machinery and its parts.

Maintain and oversee overall cleanliness and proper functioning of the poultry buildings, tools, and production machinery.

Monitor computer systems for all house vitals (water, air, and feed).Organize and execute preventive maintenance program for poultry production and layer equipment at the facility.

Daily communication with site Managers and other engineering and/or maintenance staff regarding maintenance issues and to provide technical information.

Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, or repair to ensure that machines or equipment are installed and functioning according to specifications.

Regulate the upkeep and operation of layer system generator.

Perform welding and carpentry work when needed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

An electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, agriculture engineering, or similar degree is required.

Being able to operate skid loader, tractor, forklift, Pick-up truck, and/ or semi-tractor is preferred but not required.

Perform other engineering tasks as necessary to ensure optimal performances of all machinery.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Must possess the ability to work in an agricultural environment, indoors, outdoors, office, warehouse, processing, and farm production areas each varying in temperature, and other environment specific atmospheres.

Must be willing and able to work past the scheduled leave time to complete the job, if needed.

Must possess the ability to work in an open office setting.

Must maintain professionalism with coworkers.
