SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS
Designs, develops, and implements quality control methods and control plans company wide. Applies knowledge of best known quality principles to aid the manufacturing process through concurrent and collaborative efforts resulting in improved factory yield and quality. Duties, responsibilities and qualifications may vary depending on customer or supplier focus.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Drives resolution of customer, supplier or internal quality issues. CAPA items addressed in a timely and effective manner. Monitors and reports on KPIs. Build strong productive relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams (Supply Chain, Operations, and Customer Service). Responsible for utilizing effective and efficient engineering techniques such as risk analysis, test method development, design of experiments, statistical data analysis, measurement systems analysis, and development of sampling plans. Generate, assist and negotiate timely execution of customer process validation plans (PQP, PPAP, IQ/OQ/PQ, etc.). Develop, implement, and execute supplier monitoring process. Conduct audits of suppliers to identify process and system gaps and to determine effectiveness of control plans and risk mitigation. Provide external and internal audit backroom support along with observation investigations. Train organization members on methods and procedures as needed.ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Primarily interacts with manufacturing, supply chain, and customer service personnel. Additional collaboration with customers and suppliers on need basis.EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Minimum BS degree in mechanical, industrial, or materials engineering with 5+yrs of experience in manufacturing environment. MS degree with either 2+yrs of experience or proven success with research projects. Prefer experience with machining, GD&T, and inspection methods. Some experience with managing supplier quality, auditing, and monitoring plans. Regulatory / compliance knowledge a plus. Experience with SPC and software utilization (Minitab, JMP, WinSPC, etc.). Includes knowing SPC basics, WECO tests, chart types, data analysis, and able to communicate results to others. Problem solving (problem break-down, 5whys, 7 tools of quality, procedures, etc). Risk assessment knowledge using FMEA or equivalent is desirable. Immediate working knowledge of computers, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Internet browsers, printers, etc. Possess professional and effective English language skills (written, verbal, and listening). Detail oriented, ethical, collaborative, passionate and committed about completing projects large or small.SPECIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Be able and willing to carry light weight instrumentations.
- Be able and willing to walk about various areas of facility, including light travel to suppliers or customers sites.
- Be able and willing to use a computer for long portions of the work day.
