About Us Alliance Finishing & Manufacturing is a leading provider of anodizing, electroplating, and advanced surface engineering solutions serving the aerospace, defense, medical, and commercial manufacturing industries. As a Nadcap-certified company with over 25 years of experience, we specialize in improving the corrosion resistance, durability, functionality, and appearance of metal and engineered plastic components. Our proprietary GreenPOP® technology is helping redefine plating on advanced plastics and composites such as PEEK, Ultem, and other high-performance engineered materials. As we continue expanding our advanced plastics metallization capabilities, we are seeking motivated engineers who want to work on real-world manufacturing challenges and emerging technologies. Position Summary Alliance Finishing & Manufacturing is seeking a hands-on Process Engineer to support and improve our plating, chemical processing, and manufacturing operations. This role involves working closely with production, laboratory, quality, and engineering personnel to optimize manufacturing processes, improve yields, troubleshoot defects, and support the development of new technologies. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates, early-career engineers, or manufacturing professionals seeking practical experience in advanced manufacturing, surface engineering, and process development within a fast-paced industrial environment. The ideal candidate is technically curious, analytical, self-motivated, and comfortable working both on the production floor and in a laboratory or engineering setting. Key Responsibilities Process Engineering & Production Support Maintain and improve metal and composite plating production processes Troubleshoot process defects including adhesion failures, thickness variation, surface defects, and other quality-related issues Design and improve racks, fixtures, tooling, and process methods to optimize plating performance and current distribution Perform engineering trials, experiments, and process improvement projects to improve quality, throughput, and cost efficiency Analyze KPIs, yield trends, production data, and process performance using Excel and related tools Work closely with chemistry and laboratory personnel to maintain plating bath chemistry and process stability Assist in scaling and industrializing new plating technologies and engineered material processes Quality & Compliance Support Nadcap audits and internal quality management systems Maintain and update shop travelers, process instructions, and manufacturing documentation Verify inspections and testing including thickness measurements, XRF analysis, adhesion testing, and Certificate of Conformance documentation Maintain accurate engineering, production, and quality records Environmental, Health & Safety Support wastewater treatment operations and environmental compliance activities Assist with hazardous waste management and regulatory documentation Promote safe chemical handling and support operator safety training Ensure compliance with environmental and workplace safety procedures Team & Customer Support Train and support production operators and quality inspectors Communicate technical updates, project status, and delivery schedules with customers and internal teams Collaborate with production supervisors and leadership to achieve quality and delivery objectives Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and root cause investigations Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical field (completed or in progress), or equivalent industry experience Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work in a manufacturing and production environment Interest in chemical processing, electroplating, manufacturing, or materials engineering Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities Preferred Qualifications Manufacturing, laboratory, or industrial engineering experience Experience with data analysis and Microsoft Excel Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, Nadcap, or regulated manufacturing environments Knowledge of electroplating, anodizing, surface finishing, or chemical processing operations Spanish/English bilingual skills are a plus Benefits Competitive salary: $60,000 - $75,000 DOE Medical and dental benefits 401(k) program Paid vacation, sick leave, and company holidays Career growth and mentorship opportunities Exposure to advanced aerospace and engineered material technologies Hands-on involvement in innovative manufacturing and process development projects Additional Requirements Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
