Under the direction of the Operations Area Manager, the Process Engineer Maximize drives operational efficiency, process optimization and digital transformation across quarry and terminal operations. Job combines data analytics cost modeling, and technology implementation to improve productivity, support capital investments, and enhance operational viability across multiple sites while promoting a safe and engaging workplace. As a Process Engineer at Cemex, your responsibilities will include: Promote Zero4Life in all activities. Zero4Life represents the CEMEX goal and vision for an injury-free workplace; a workplace where every injury is preventable and the elimination of all injuries, not reduction of injuries, is what motivates us Conduct safety walks and operational audits to identify risks and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards Identify and implement process improvements that enhance both safety and operational efficiency Lead and maintain constant communication with plant managers and department leaders (Production, Maintenance, QC, Loadout), and supervisors to review KPIs, drive accountability, and align on operational performance Conduct regular site visits to strengthen relationships, improve communication, and identify operational improvement opportunities firsthand Work closely with cross-functional teams to align operational goals, reporting needs, and improvement initiatives Translate data insights into actionable recommendations for site leadership Coordinate with IT, procurement, and operations teams to support system implementations and process improvements Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards for KPIs such as production, equipment utilization, downtime, and loadout performance Automate data pipelines using Power Query, Excel, and SharePoint/OneDrive integration Design normalized data models to improve reporting scalability and accuracy Ensure data integrity and consistency across multiple operational sites Analyze equipment downtime, availability, and operating hours to identify improvement opportunities Track KPIs across Production, Loadout, Maintenance, and Mobile Equipment teams Identify best practices at individual sites and support standardization across the broader operation Benchmark performance across sites to drive continuous improvement initiatives using data-driven insights Lead implementation of digital reporting systems and automation tools across operations Reduce manual processes by enabling automated data collection and reporting workflows Standardize data structures and reporting practices across multiple sites Promote adoption of AI tools (e.g., Copilot) to improve productivity and decision-making Develop and support business case justifications for capital investments (equipment, infrastructure, and technology) Conduct ROI, payback period, and cost-benefit analyses for proposed projects Collaborate with procurement and operations teams to evaluate investment feasibility Support project execution, including coordination and tracking during equipment installation and commissioning Develop and maintain structured equipment lists and asset classifications (Infrastructure, Processing, Mobile Equipment, etc.) Standardize equipment naming conventions and hierarchy for reporting and analytics Support asset tracking, utilization monitoring, and lifecycle management initiatives Perform other duties as assigned by management Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Engineering or related major 5 years progressive experience within the heavy industrial manufacturing industry Previous aggregates process experience is a plus Previous continuous process, bulk-material handling operation experience may also be considered beneficial Must possess at least a basic understanding of raw geologic materials (i.e. limestone, clay, sand, etc.), and a familiarity with the crushing and conveyance (i.e. belts, stackers, pneumatics) of those materials Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Power BI (data modeling, DAX, dashboards) Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, Power Query) SharePoint / OneDrive (data integration & automation) Financial modeling & cost analysis tools Fleet telematics platforms AI tools (Copilot, etc.) Project management tools and documentation platforms Aggflow (aggregate flow simulation and plant design) Ability and Leadership to manage and develop people, communication, team work and collaboration with different areas. Result oriented, identifies issues and drives the decision process, through an analytic mind, coordinate and work on different activities simultaneously Working Conditions Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and working outdoors.
