Orthomerica is seeking an Industrial Engineer I to support our manufacturing operations and continuous improvement initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent engineering graduate or early-career professional looking to develop their skills while making a meaningful impact on production performance and operational excellence. As an Industrial Engineer I, you will work closely with our Manufacturing Engineering Manager, Senior Industrial Engineer, and cross-functional teams to support process optimization, capacity planning, workflow improvements, manufacturing documentation, and production support activities. What You'll Do Key Responsibilities Conduct time-studies, work measurements, and production data collection. Support labor reporting processes and maintain production standards and related databases. Assist with capacity planning, staffing analysis, and operational performance reviews. Develop process flow maps, workstation layouts, line layouts, and facility layout concepts. Identify opportunities for process improvements, efficiency gains, and cost reductions. Support new product introductions and manufacturing readiness activities. Create and update manufacturing procedures, work instructions, and supporting documentation. Prepare cost estimates, operational analyses, and production reports. Provide hands-on production support through observation, troubleshooting, and issue resolution. Contribute to multiple continuous improvement projects through analysis, documentation, and implementation support. Additional Contributions Collaborate effectively with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, R D, Supply Chain, and external partners. Support project execution and follow-through under the guidance of senior engineering leadership. Help develop and improve manufacturing systems, tools, templates, and best practices. Assist in defining process inputs, outputs, handoffs, and system interactions. Gather data, troubleshoot operational issues, and support problem-solving efforts. Communicate project updates, findings, risks, and challenges to stakeholders. Partner with manufacturing leaders and cross-functional teams to drive operational improvements. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned. What We're Looking For Required Education Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field. Preferred Qualifications Entry-level to two (2) years of industrial engineering, manufacturing, operations, internship, or co-op experience. Familiarity with ISO, FDA, or other regulated manufacturing environments. Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, process mapping, and continuous improvement methodologies. Strong analytical, mechanical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively with operators, supervisors, engineers, and leadership teams. Knowledge of labor, quality, cost, and throughput considerations in manufacturing operations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
