Job Title:
Industrial Engineer Job Description This contract opportunity seeks experienced Industrial Engineers to increase manufacturing capacity and throughput by identifying and implementing process improvements. You will lead time studies, analyze performance data, and apply lean and Six Sigma methodologies to optimize shop floor layouts, improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing processes. Responsibilities Conduct detailed time studies on manufacturing operations to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for lean improvements. Analyze production data, including OEE metrics, to assess availability, performance, and quality and recommend targeted process enhancements. Develop and interpret spaghetti diagrams and other industrial engineering tools to optimize material and workflow on the shop floor. Review and refine shop floor layouts to improve throughput, reduce bottlenecks, and enhance overall productivity. Apply lean manufacturing and Six Sigma practices to drive continuous improvement initiatives and standardize best practices. Independently manage process improvement projects from assessment through implementation and follow-up. Collaborate with cross-functional teams in manufacturing to implement process changes and monitor their impact on performance. Document findings, prepare reports, and communicate recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and data-driven manner. Essential Skills Minimum of 5 years of industrial engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering. Proven experience conducting time studies to support process improvement and lean initiatives. Hands-on experience with Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), including measuring and analyzing availability, performance, and quality. Strong data analysis skills to interpret production metrics and drive decision-making. Practical knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies. Experience applying Six Sigma or Lean Six Sigma practices in a production setting. Ability to evaluate and improve manufacturing processes and shop floor layouts. Demonstrated ability to work independently while managing multiple processes and projects. Additional Skills & Qualifications Lean Six Sigma certifications. Experience creating and using spaghetti diagrams to analyze and optimize workflows. Expereince in manufacturing process optimization and throughput improvement. Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making. Effective communication skills to present findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, project-based contract environment. Work Environment The role is based in a manufacturing environment focused on producing blades and vanes for turbines. You will work in a fast-paced setting where you regularly interact with production areas, equipment, and shop floor personnel. The position involves hands-on observation of manufacturing processes, collection of time study data, and close collaboration with operations teams to implement process improvements. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Pooler, GA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $75.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
