This role acts as a strategic advisor to the Plant Manager, guiding improvement initiatives from concept through implementation. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with production and maintenance teams, providing hands-on support to resolve day-to-day operational challenges. Key responsibilities include developing detailed manufacturing process documentation and product flow diagrams, conducting root cause analysis to ensure sustainable problem resolution, and evaluating current practices to implement enhancements that uphold quality and maximize efficiency. Principle ResponsibilitiesConceive, design, develop, and test innovative solutions for manufacturing processes based on analysis and organizational objectivesIdentify design improvements based on activity levels; assess footprint capacity within facilities and identify/develop plans to better utilize the spaceIdentify equipment improvements based on activity levels; assess throughput capacity and identify/develop plans remove bottlenecks and breakdownsCreate and maintain required documentation for manufacturing processes, including flow charts, capacity and utilization studies, time and motion studies, standard work, cycle time analysis, and line balancingEmpower employees and optimize existing activities based on standards and best practices from Six Sigma, LEAN, etc.

Study and analyze current processes, determine their effectiveness, and recommend strategies for improvement and timelines for implementationConduct time study analysis to establish production standards for departmentsAdvocate for continuous improvement by promoting a strong teamwork atmosphere and a community of process improvement practiceResearch and introduce equipment/other technologiesAdditional responsibilities assigned as necessary QualificationsCompetencies Highly hands-on with a strong mechanical aptitude is a must.

Problem solving and analyses, careful and systematic evaluation of information, possible alternatives, and consequences.

Mechanical skills required to perform equipment maintenance and fabrication in collaboration with other team members to develop practical solutionsAbility to understand production processesAbility to understand and lead the implementation of low-level automation/robotics optionsAbility to follow all the quality standards and guidelines strictlyMulti-tasking skills are required to manage multiple projects and various project activities.

Ability to identify cost reductions and provide ROI justifications for change/acquisition of equipmentKnowledge of/experience with value stream mapping and application of such.

Thinks conceptually and intuitively, linking problems and symptoms to identify underlying issues and root causes.

Presentation skills are the ability to communicate to an audience formally.

Makes sound decisions in a timely and confident manner.

A demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment, take initiative, work independently of day-to-day supervision, and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.

Minimum 5 years related experience.

Experience in a manufacturing environment, leading continuous improvement efforts and lean methods and toolsMaintenance/Mechanical experience - in a manufacturing environment a plusKnowledge of industrial engineering concepts such as work cell layout and material flow analysis a plusProven ability to carry out design calculations.

Strong project and program management preferredProficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
