Industrial Engineer
Job Description:
DPP is seeking an Industrial Engineer for a career opportunity with our client known worldwide for building premium aluminum consumer trailers and premium aluminum business-to-business trailers. Position summary: The Industrial Engineer will lead the identification of issues impeding product flow, applying lean principles to alleviate process bottlenecks and reduce work in progress (WIP). This includes management of the IE operators and technicians, providing direction, and developing their capability and performance. Project management skills are a plus for this position. The focus will be on managing and leading projects rather than the management of people.
Essential functions and responsibilities:
Lead and implement site lean activities such as 5S, standard work, visual management, pace to takt, value stream mapping, Kaizen, and 8D to drive out waste and improve productivity. Leads in fostering the professional development of facility Leads, Supervisors, and Managers by being a leading, proactive change agent that drives a CI culture Leads standardization and optimization of manufacturing processes, sequences, layouts, and flow. Leads and tracks continuous improvement activities through all functional areas including both manufacturing and office. Develops detailed plans, drive project performance, and assure timely completion and improvement projects and savings goals Develops, designs, and plans equipment and machine layouts, workflow, and safety precautions to maximize utilization of plant and manufacturing facilities. Key owner and stakeholder of equipment capital expenditures, including design, vendor selection, procurement, and implementation Collaborates with Operations Manager and Site Leadership Team to develop continuous improvement roadmap driving best in class performance Leads creation and enhancement of capacity modeling, production planning tools and time standards. Additional duties as assigned Required knowledge, skills, and abilities: Bachelor's degree in Engineering Minimum of 5 years of Industrial Engineering experience and 2-3 years of experience managing projects. Industrial Services Data collection, root cause analysis and practical problem-solving skills Demonstrated ability to apply throughput improvement processes Knowledge of Lean Principles Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and written/oral communication skills Self-motivated with the ability to be flexible in shifting priorities and focusing on critical tasks Core Skills Value Stream Mapping
  • Skilled at analyzing end-to-end production flow to identify inefficiencies and eliminate waste. Time Studies
  • Experienced in measuring task durations to set accurate standards and improve productivity. Process Improvements
  • Adept at evaluating workflows and implementing changes that enhance efficiency and quality. Lean Manufacturing Understanding
  • Solid knowledge of lean principles and tools (e.g., 5S, Kaizen) to drive operational excellence. Owning the Process Flow
  • Takes full responsibility for designing, monitoring, and optimizing material and product movement through the system.
Strong project management skills for planning, tracking, and executing improvement initiatives. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities. Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of prioritizing critical tasks in a dynamic environment.
