Engineering Support Specialist Job Description Join our engineering team to provide essential support for various projects. Utilize your skills in AutoCAD to prepare detailed design prints and drawings for the manufacturing floor. This role emphasizes accuracy, quality checks, and the creation of production deliverables using industrial label printers and laser engraving equipment. Responsibilities Assist the engineering team with projects as needed. Use AutoCAD to pull design prints and prepare drawings for the manufacturing floor. Perform quality checks on wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and other engineer-generated documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness. Create production deliverables, including adhesive labels, wire markers, cable tags, placards, and nameplates. Assist with generating wire tags based on engineering schematics and direction from engineers. Print, review, organize, stamp, and distribute drawing packages and blueprints for production use. Support document control activities, including revision tracking, folding and stamping drawings, and archiving documentation. Perform record-keeping duties such as scanning drawings and organizing digital files and folders on internal network systems. Assist with reports and administrative tasks using Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office suite. Support additional engineering or production-related projects as assigned. Essential Skills Proficient in AutoCAD or drafting software, with a minimum of 6+ months of experience. 1+ year of office, administrative, or technical support experience. Proficient with Windows-based computers and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality and accuracy. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education preferred in engineering. Experience with engineering documentation and manufacturing support. Knowledge of CAD software and customer service skills. Work Environment Work onsite in a modern facility with about 18 engineers. The environment is a fast-paced manufacturing facility focused on quality. The position offers a stable daytime schedule, Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 4 PM, with a business casual dress code. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Des Moines, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
