As Cerebral Staffing , we are looking for a dedicated PDP Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team supporting our client, John Deere , at the Product Engineering Center in Waterloo, IA .   • John Deere Waterloo Works This is a high-visibility, long-term 2+ year contract opportunity paying up to $44/hr , including 2 Weeks of PTO .
In this role, you will champion the Product Delivery Process (PDP) for Large Tractor new product programs, focusing intensely on the metal fabrication commodity to guarantee that outsourced components meet rigorous quality standards before full-scale manufacturing begins.
Position Details & Compensation Pay Rate:
Up to $44/hr (W2).
Location:
100% Onsite at the Product Engineering Center in Waterloo, IA.
Duration:
2+ Years.
Shift:
1st Shift (7:00 AM
  • 3:30 PM) with minimal overtime.
Travel:
Occasional local travel to nearby facilities within a 20-mile radius using your personal vehicle.

Core Responsibilities Supplier Quality Management:
Dedicate roughly 80% of your focus to partnering with external metal fabrication and welding suppliers to ensure continuity of high-quality components.
PPAP & Part Qualification:
Execute Quality Plan Level (QPL) protocols, facilitate Design Process and Assembly Reviews (DPAR), and manage Production Part Approval Processes (PPAP) for all outsourced parts.
New Product Build Support:
Provide direct engineering and build support for experimental prototype runs, driving fast-paced containment and immediate issue resolution when defects arise.
Cross-Commodity Flexibility:
Dedicate roughly 20% of your time supporting alternative commodities and factory divisions as operational priorities evolve.
Shop Floor Collaboration:
Spend approximately 10% of your day active on the factory shop floor validating parts and reviewing processes in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Required Skills & Experience Education:
4-year Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a Technology-related discipline.
Technical Background:
Proven experience in a manufacturing setting with a concrete background in metal fabrication and welding processes.
Quality Methodology:
Solid, practical working knowledge of structured quality planning methodologies, defect containment, and part approvals.
Adaptability:
A strong willingness to learn, adapt to changing project timelines, and communicate effectively across technical boundaries. What Makes You Stand Out 1 or more years of direct experience working face-to-face with external metal fabrication suppliers. 1 or more years of experience operating specifically in a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) role. Professional experience navigating SAP systems within a supply chain or quality environment.
