Role of Continuous Improvement Engineer:
The Continuous Improvement Engineer is tasked with enhancing production and business processes by utilizing Lean principles, time assessments, standard procedures, and systematic issue resolution. This position plays a key role in fostering and propelling improvements. The successful candidate will act as a catalyst for continuous improvement and operational excellence, dedicating a significant amount of time to collaborating with teams on the production floor to implement practical enhancements. This role necessitates a hands-on, team player who excels in collaborating with operators and supervisors to help teams implement lasting improvements. The expectation is for this individual to allocate approximately 50-70% of their time on the production floor and the remainder on supporting improvement initiatives, data analysis, and standard procedure development. Job Responsibilities of the
Continuous Improvement Engineer:
Devote significant time to examining processes on the production floor, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing enhancements Lead and support Lean and continuous improvement activities, including Kaizen events Perform time assessments and aid in creating standard practices, SOPs, and process documentation Assist with systematic issue resolution and corrective actions (A3, 8D, root cause analysis, etc.) Support projects related to workflow, layout, and efficiency improvement Monitor and report on continuous improvement projects and their measurable outcomes Promote a culture of continuous improvement and pragmatic issue solving throughout the organization Educational & Professional Requirements for the
Role of Continuous Improvement Engineer:
3-5 years of experience in continuous improvement, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Process Engineering Preferably holds Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification Experience working in an
ISO 9001
environment is advantageous Experience in a manufacturing environment supporting production, quality, engineering, or process improvement activities Proficient in Lean manufacturing and systematic problem-solving methods Adept at observing processes, pinpointing inefficiencies, and facilitating practical improvements Skilled in conducting time assessments and assisting in creating standard practices and SOPs Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with individuals at all levels of the organization. Must exhibit approachability, helpfulness, and the ability to establish strong relationships with production floor staff. Ability to prioritize tasks based on business impact and manage multiple projects independently
