Job Title:
Supplier Quality Engineer (PPAP) Job Description The Supplier Quality Engineer (PPAP) supports the qualification, monitoring, and continuous improvement of suppliers for electro-mechanical medical device systems. This role focuses on part qualification, production support, and supplier performance management, while collaborating closely with both suppliers and customers to ensure that components and processes meet stringent regulatory and quality requirements. Responsibilities Lead and support part qualification activities by working directly with suppliers on Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions, including detailed review and approval of PPAP documentation and data. Collaborate with customers on change management and PPAP-related deliverables, ensuring all requirements are clearly understood, documented, and met. Provide production support by investigating nonconforming material (NCM) and supplier-related quality issues, using appropriate quality inspection tools and techniques. Conduct root cause analysis and support the implementation and verification of effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for supplier-related issues. Manage supplier corrective actions (SCARs), including initiating, tracking, and closing actions while ensuring timely and sustainable resolution. Oversee a portfolio of approximately 40-60 suppliers, monitoring performance and driving continuous improvement in quality, delivery, and compliance. Apply knowledge of GD&T and inspection methods to review drawings, specifications, and measurement results for supplier components and assemblies. Support and participate in supplier audits and assessments to verify compliance with quality and regulatory standards. Coordinate change management activities with suppliers and customers, ensuring that changes are properly evaluated, documented, and validated before implementation. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to PPAPs, SCARs, NCMs, and change management activities in accordance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements. Communicate effectively with internal cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers to resolve issues, align expectations, and support project and production timelines. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wheeling, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $38.50/hr.
