This position focuses on enhancing manufacturing and engineering efficiencies, leading continuous improvement initiatives, and supporting cross-functional teams in manufacturing, quality, and purchasing. 2015 environment. Improve manufacturing and engineering efficiencies by analyzing current processes and implementing enhancements. Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and purchasing teams on a variety of assigned projects. Develop and implement engineering improvements within the manufacturing area to support all phases of the manufacturing process. Identify and implement opportunities to advance capabilities and processes with a strong focus on manufacturing quality and customer satisfaction. Optimize the use of facilities, equipment, materials, and manufacturing operations to increase efficiency and reduce waste. Serve as a leader of the Continuous Improvement Team, working independently and applying Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma fundamentals to projects that deliver cost savings, improved process efficiency, and consistent quality. Manage project work with a strong focus on achieving measurable short-term and long-term cost-saving results while maintaining required quality standards. Analyze plant operations using engineering principles and techniques, and make recommendations to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and profitability. Improve machine and operation cycle times and drive toward standardization of work methods across the production floor. Provide ongoing support to manufacturing, quality, and purchasing departments as directed by leadership. Take direct responsibility for improving manufacturing efficiencies, production rates, standards, and processes through close interaction with manufacturing and maintenance teams. Document all changes to processes, quality plans, and procedures resulting from continuous improvement activities. Work one-on-one with die setters to improve die setting practices and enhance knowledge and skills for the set-up position. Create, maintain, and manage all process routings, bills of material, packaging instructions, and work instructions. Essential Skills Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering. 1-3 years of previous work experience in a related stamping, welding, or manufacturing environment. Practical experience with manufacturing engineering and manufacturing process optimization. General knowledge of continuous process improvement technologies and methodologies, including Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma methods, and 5S activities. Ability to lead and participate in continuous improvement and organizational development initiatives. Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, diagrams, and procedure manuals. Experience working with stamping and stamping press operations. Strong skills in process improvement and continuous improvement within a manufacturing setting. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working directly on the production floor in a hands-on engineering role. Experience in quality improvement within an
ISO 9001
2015 environment. Ability to analyze plant operations using engineering principles and recommend improvements for efficiency and profitability. Comfort collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, maintenance, and purchasing. Project-oriented mindset with the ability to focus on achieving measurable cost savings and process improvements. Interest in career growth within a privately owned organization that promotes from within and offers a path to future leadership or managerial roles. Strong communication skills to work effectively with die setters, operators, and other team members on process and set-up improvements. Work Environment The role operates in both office and manufacturing environments. On the production floor, you may be exposed to moving mechanical equipment, and the noise level is typically loud with temperatures that can vary significantly throughout the day. All necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) must be used when working in the shop. The company offers a hands-on, collaborative culture where engineers, production workers, and maintenance staff work closely together. The organization is privately owned, operates on a smaller scale rather than as a large corporation, and emphasizes internal promotion, providing opportunities to grow into managerial positions over time. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bluffton, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $32.70/hr.
