Job Description:
This role plays a critical part in supporting the successful vehicle launch within General Assembly area. The position focuses on executing standardized work, supporting Industrial Engineering (IE) initiatives, and driving continuous improvement through data tracking, process implementation, and line optimization. Must-Have Qualifications 5+ years of experience in automotive engineering as an Industrial Engineer Familiarity with Industrial Engineering concepts (time studies, line balancing, standardized work) Understanding of process implementation and work instruction execution Knowledge of MODAPTS or similar time measurement systems Prior experience supporting vehicle launches or new product introductions Background in continuous improvement methodologies (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma) Familiarity with automotive assembly processes Key Responsibilities (Day-to-Day) Execute and maintain standardized work across general assembly operations Support vehicle launch activities, ensuring processes are implemented effectively Track and manage individual components within the assembly process Follow and execute work instructions developed by Industrial Engineering (IE) teams Assist in implementing IE-driven process improvements on the production floor Maintain and update spreadsheets, databases, and tracking systems for production metrics Conduct and support MODAPTS (pre-determined motion time systems) analysis Perform time studies to evaluate efficiency and identify improvement opportunities Assist with line rebalancing efforts to optimize throughput and reduce bottlenecks Monitor process performance and escalate deviations as needed Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies and proposing solutions Collaborate cross-functionally with IE, production, and leadership teams
