Responsibilities Meet production requirements consistent with the business plan, engineering requirements and quality standards. Manufacturing Engineering efforts on new and existing product lines. Training and development needs for the workforce. Lean initiatives Support to all areas of the organization (Design, Manufacturing, Materials, Planning, Quality) in production of company products. Process audits, risk assessments, PFMEA's, process documentation. Participate in manufacturability reviews in support of new product development. Participate in design reviews internally and externally with customers. Qualifications BS in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering. 10 - 15 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience in an aviation or aerospace environment is a plus. Experience within other high precision, highly regulated industries is a must. Emphasis in experience has to be in a hand assembly operation of hardware, components, mechanisms and finished products rather than an operation dominated by a process operation. Experience with tool, fixture and manufacturing process development and the application of GD&T. Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as cold forming, brazing, soldering and swaging. Knowledge of machine design, machine controls, process control equipment and methods, automation. Ability to develop and prepare process documentation, technical reports and presentations. Effective team player and the ability to communicate effectively and work independently while taking direction from and maintaining a strong line of communication with other department Managers. Knowledge of mechanical cables, cable winding, stranding, wire forming and associated machinery and processes is a plus. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, ProEngineer and AutoCad.
