Warsaw, IN Zing Recruiting is partnered with a top up-and-coming company in the automotive industry in Warsaw, IN. We are seeking a Process Engineer - Body to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and play a key role in optimizing production processes, improving efficiency, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Shift Available 1st Shift hours Pay $114,612 - $143,265 (based on experience) Position Overview The Process Engineer - Body is responsible for analyzing, designing, and improving manufacturing processes to maximize efficiency, quality, safety, and cost performance. This role applies industrial engineering principles to optimize labor utilization, material flow, equipment efficiency, and production systems while supporting new product launches, capacity expansion, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will work closely with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and automation teams to drive data-based decisions and deliver sustainable operational improvements. Key Responsibilities Process Design & Optimization Develop and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs. Conduct time studies, work measurements, and line balancing activities. Implement lean manufacturing initiatives including Kaizen, 5S, and SMED methodologies. Layout & Material Flow Design plant layouts, workstation ergonomics, and material flow systems. Optimize internal logistics, material handling processes, and Kanban systems. Ensure efficient space utilization and workflow throughout the facility. Capacity Planning & Resource Management Analyze production capacity and forecast manufacturing requirements. Plan manpower, equipment, and tooling needs for new and existing programs. Support capital equipment investment decisions and implementation. Cost Analysis & Continuous Improvement Perform process cost analysis and identify opportunities for improvement. Lead continuous improvement projects focused on waste reduction and productivity enhancement. Monitor and improve key performance indicators including cycle time, OEE, and scrap rates. Quality & Safety Integration Ensure manufacturing processes comply with quality standards and requirements. Integrate ergonomic and safety principles into process design. Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for process-related defects. New Program Support Participate in Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFM/A) reviews. Support product launch readiness and validate process capability. Develop Process FMEAs, work instructions, and standard operating procedures. Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field preferred. 12+ years of related automotive manufacturing experience with a Bachelor's degree, 8+ years with a Master's degree, or 5+ years with a PhD. Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and ERP systems. Automotive OEM experience preferred. Experience with Just-In-Time (JIT) manufacturing environments. Skills Strong leadership skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams. Knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes and production systems. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and production planning software. Strong analytical and continuous improvement mindset.
