Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Supplier Quality Engineer to join our key client, a cutting edge automotive manufacturer. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring suppliers consistently deliver products and services that meet quality, delivery, and customer requirements. You will serve as the primary liaison between suppliers and internal teams, driving continuous improvement initiatives, resolving quality concerns, and supporting new product launches. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with suppliers, manufacturing operations, engineering, and customers to improve product quality, reduce defects, and strengthen supply chain performance. Responsibilities Evaluate and develop suppliers through audits and performance reviews Monitor supplier performance including quality, delivery, responsiveness, and corrective action effectiveness Lead investigations into supplier-related quality issues and facilitate containment, root cause analysis, and corrective actions Review and approve supplier corrective actions utilizing methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why Analysis, Fishbone Diagrams, and A3 Problem Solving Support new product launches by reviewing and approving supplier quality documentation including PPAPs, Control Plans, PFMEAs, Process Flow Diagrams, MSA studies, and capability studies Collaborate with Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Operations teams to ensure supplier readiness and successful program launches Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing supplier defects, improving delivery performance Travel to supplier locations as required to support audits, investigations, and supplier development activities Requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering or significant relevant automotive manufacturing experience Proven experience in Supplier Quality or related quality roles Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC, and capability studies Experience conducting supplier audits and evaluating quality management systems Strong problem-solving skills utilizing 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, A3, or similar methodologies Ability to analyze data and identify trends using quality tools and reporting systems Experience managing supplier corrective actions and driving sustainable improvements Strong communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications Experience working with vision inspection systems or other automated quality control tools is a plus. Excellent communication skills for documenting processes clearly and collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
