Job Description:
Process Engineer - Gas Generation & Heat Transfer Calvert City, KY Our client is seeking a Process Engineer with experience in gas generation, heat transfer, and high?temperature industrial systems. This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in heavy manufacturing environments and enjoys optimizing complex thermal and chemical processes.
Responsibilities:
Analyze furnace off?gas, combustion behavior, and thermal efficiency to improve yield and stability Evaluate conduction, convection, and radiation losses across furnaces, ducts, cooling systems, and reactors Provide technical guidance on furnace performance, slag behavior, and reaction kinetics onduct data?driven RCA on temperature swings, gas?flow issues, and energy?balance inconsistencies Lead Lean/Six Sigma projects focused on throughput, energy reduction, and process reliability Maintain SOPs, P&IDs, mass/energy balances, and technical standards Partner with Operations, Maintenance, EHS, and Quality to ensure safe, stable production Scope upgrades, evaluate vendors, and assist with commissioning of new equipment
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline. 3-7+ years of experience in gas generation, combustion systems, thermal processes, or high?temperature industrial operations Strong understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, reaction engineering, and fluid flow Experience with industrial furnaces, reactors, gas?handling systems, or energy?intensive processes Ability to interpret P&IDs, process data, and instrumentation trends Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills Comfortable working in a heavy industrial plant environment Experience with Siemens or Allen?

Bradley PLCs Familiarity with
HACCP, EPA
compliance, or industrial gas safety standards Background in metals, chemical processing, or energy?intensive manufacturing
