Job Description

Industrial Engineer Louisville, KY (Shepherdsville) Automotive Manufacturing Company 7am
  • 3pm | Monday
  • Friday $75,000
  • $95,000 Must be able to travel up to 25% We are working with an established precision engineering company based in Shepherdsville, KY. They are recruiting a Industrial Engineer to join their team. They are offering a salary between $75,000
  • $95,000 depending on experience, along with excellent employment benefits which include 401K, Healthcare, Vision and Dental and PTO Key Responsibilities include: Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure quality performance Conduct value stream mapping (VSM) and time studies to identify bottlenecks and drive process improvements
Packaging:
Design dunnage, conveyance equipment, and line-side racking systems Maintain Packaging Approval Data Sheet (PADS) forms and support packaging trials
Process Changes:
Manage Product Change Notice (PCN) updates for process, material flow, packaging, and presentation changes Participate in change control meetings to ensure proper implementation and communication Train staff on new processes, layouts, material handling, and VSM concepts
General:
Ensure compliance with Quality, Environmental, and Material Management Systems Promote and follow all safety policies and report unsafe conditions Perform all other assigned duties
Health & Safety:
Ensure compliance with safety and ergonomic standards in material handling Support development of plant traffic management plan Conduct value stream mapping (VSM) and time studies to identify bottlenecks and drive process improvements Qualifications & Experience required: Undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field (or equivalent education/experience) 2-5 years experience in high-volume assembly and sequencing (manufacturing, warehousing, or supply chain logistics preferred; automotive/seating industry preferred) Equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience accepted Strong analytical skills to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and AutoCAD Knowledge of Lean manufacturing concepts (Kanban, One-Piece-Flow, Kaizen, Theory of Constraints, 5S, etc.) Self-motivated with ability to work with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with automated material handling systems (e.g., AGVs) Experience with SAP ERP systems Experience in automotive TS/IATF environments Experience with CAD, process simulation, data analysis tools, material handling system design, and warehouse planning Strong project and time management skills Experience working in a unionized environment
