Job Description

Description OpenExpert.

AI (a C10Labs company) is building the intelligence layer for the modern energy system. We develop AI-powered systems that act as Digital Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) for power generation, transmission, and distributed energy operations. Our platform helps utilities, independent power producers (IPPs), and energy operators reduce downtime, improve asset reliability, and make faster, expert-level decisions in real time. As the grid becomes more complex—with renewables, storage, and aging infrastructure—operators face increasing pressure to do more with less. We believe the future of energy reliability will be driven by AI systems that augment human expertise at scale. About the Role The Industrial Integration Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting integration solutions across industrial systems, operational technology (OT), and enterprise platforms within power generation and energy environments. This role connects plant-floor systems, control platforms, historians, monitoring tools, and business applications to enable reliable data flow, operational visibility, and scalable digital solutions. Responsibilities Design and implement integration architectures connecting industrial control systems, plant data sources, and enterprise platforms. Develop interfaces between OT systems such as SCADA, DCS, PLCs, historians, and enterprise or cloud-based applications. Collaborate with operations, engineering, IT, cybersecurity, and software teams to define integration requirements and system interfaces. Support data acquisition, normalization, validation, and transmission from plant and field assets to downstream applications. Build and maintain APIs, middleware connections, message brokers, and data pipelines for industrial environments. Troubleshoot system communication issues, data quality problems, interface failures, and interoperability challenges. Support deployment of monitoring, analytics, asset performance, and operations applications by ensuring accurate and reliable system integration. Create interface control documents, mapping specifications, test plans, and technical design documentation. Ensure integration solutions meet cybersecurity, reliability, performance, and maintainability requirements. Assist with system commissioning, factory/site acceptance testing, cutover planning, and post-deployment support. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, industrial engineering, automation, computer science, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in industrial systems integration, controls engineering, OT/IT integration, or industrial software implementation (power generation, utilities, substations, grid operations, or industrial energy infrastructure) Experience with industrial protocols and interfaces such as OPC, Modbus, DNP3, MQTT, IEC 61850, REST APIs, or similar technologies. Working knowledge of SCADA, DCS, PLCs, historians, edge devices, and industrial communication networks. Experience with data integration, middleware, scripting, or software development for industrial applications. Strong troubleshooting skills across systems, networks, interfaces, and field-to-enterprise data flows. Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
