Industrial Efficiency & Time Study Intern

Saint-Gobain Industrial Efficiency & Time Study Intern Worcester, MA Apply This summer internship supports Bonded Abrasives Operations through an industrial efficiency improvement initiative focused on time studies and process mapping. The intern will work closely with operations teams to analyze workflows, document current processes, and identify efficiency improvement opportunities using time‑study methods and structured analysis. This role provides hands‑on exposure to operational excellence, industrial efficiency, and data‑driven process improvement in a manufacturing environment. Essential Functions Complete time studies of workflows to quantify current performance Develop clear process maps and documentation of observed workflows Summarize findings and identify opportunities for efficiency improvement based on analysis Conduct time studies on selected workflows and processes Observe, document, and map current‑state processes Collect and analyze time‑study data to identify inefficiencies or variation Support development of standardized process documentation Collaborate with BA Operations stakeholders to validate observations and findings Prepare written summaries and presentations of results and recommendations Other duties as assigned.

• Qualifications Must be currently enrolled in a two or four-year accredited degree program, preferably in Industrial, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering; Operations or Supply Chain Management, or related field Strong analytical and observation skills Ability to document processes clearly and accurately Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and basic data analysis tools Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred:

Coursework or experience in industrial efficiency, operations, or process improvement

Preferred:

Familiarity with time study techniques, workflow analysis, or lean concepts

Preferred:
