REGIONAL SCHOOL UNIT NO. 57
Position:
STEM / Engineering / Industrial Arts Teacher
Location:
Massabesic High School Position Summary Deliver appropriate instruction and services to students to ensure they develop the knowledge, skills, and habits of work necessary to become successful individuals and citizens. Reports To Building Administration (Principal and/or Assistant Principal) Qualifications (in order of preference) 700
  • Industrial Arts / Technology 350s

  • Computer Technology Performance Responsibilities Plan a program of study that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of students in a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to their maturity and interests.
Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establish clear objectives for all lessons and projects. Create a classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement. Employ instructional methods and materials appropriate for meeting stated objectives. Assess student accomplishments regularly and provide feedback as required. Assess learning difficulties and seek assistance from district specialists as needed. Strive to improve professionally through ongoing learning and reflection. Assist administration in implementing school policies and maintaining a fair, orderly classroom. Attend staff meetings, serve on committees, and actively participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs). Take all necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, funds, and facilities. Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law and district policy. Organize class materials and plans to ensure minimal disruption during teacher absences. Utilize community resources when available. Be available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when reasonably requested. Perform other related duties as assigned. Terms of Employment Salary, work year, and working conditions to be established by the RSU 57 School Board. Evaluation Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the School Board's policy on evaluation. Physical Demands The employee must be able to: Sit, stand, climb stairs, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, push, and pull. Lift 25-75 lbs (depending on student size).
