Job Description
Talascend is currently seeking a Packaging Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Burton, Michigan . Overview The main function of a packaging engineer is to design and release packaging material specifications. A typical packaging engineer is responsible for improving packaging design and material specifications through research and testing. Responsibilities Perform projects to reduce packaging material, processing, distribution, and damage costs Resolve complex product and packaging issues Develop and apply graphic design elements and product identification standards for packaging materials Coordinate packaging requirements with plants, other departments, sources, and customers Stay current on new technology and new developments Apply high quality network/synchronous organization and lean strategies to achieve process improvement and promote teamwork Qualifications Bachelor's degree in packaging or other related technical area 5-7 years of experience required Expert knowledge of testing, design, packaging processes Knowledge in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Knowledge with Lotus Notes or other email communication tools Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work well with a team Ability to partner with senior management to analyze and solve issues Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously Ability to create blueprints and technical drawings We thank all applicants for their interest.
