Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Packaging Engineer responsible for designing, developing, testing, and releasing packaging material specifications for various products. The ideal candidate will focus on optimizing packaging performance, reducing material and distribution costs, improving product protection, and supporting manufacturing and customer packaging requirements. This role requires strong technical expertise in packaging processes, material testing, and design standards. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and release packaging material specifications and standards. Lead projects focused on reducing packaging material usage, processing costs, shipping costs, and product damage. Analyze and resolve complex packaging and product-related issues. Develop packaging concepts, layouts, and graphic identification standards. Coordinate packaging requirements with manufacturing plants, suppliers, customers, and cross-functional teams. Conduct packaging validation, testing, and performance evaluations. Create and review blueprints, technical drawings, and packaging documentation. Research and implement new packaging technologies, materials, and industry best practices. Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and process improvement methodologies. Ensure packaging compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards. Manage multiple packaging projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Required Skills Strong expertise in packaging design, testing, and packaging development processes. Experience with packaging materials, specifications, and validation methods. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Familiarity with Lotus Notes or other email and communication platforms. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior management. Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience creating technical drawings and packaging blueprints. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Packaging Engineering or a related technical field. 5-7 years of packaging engineering experience required. Experience in manufacturing, automotive, consumer goods, or industrial packaging environments preferred.
