BRIEF SUMMARY
The Quality Specialist is responsible for incoming inspection activities, gage calibration, and production support. Additionally, the Quality Specialist will also be responsible for tracking supplier rejects and communicating with Purchasing and Engineering concerning any quality issues.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Complete receiving inspection of manufactured material using CMM, Romer Arm and hand tools Works with Engineering, purchasing and suppliers to proactively identify, and if necessary, resolve critical issues Supports internal manufacturing as needed Uses various quality tools including statistical analysis, validation studies etc. to support decision making and quality targets Develops and implements methods and procedures for identifying non-conforming parts, materials and products, and determines disposition options Maintains calibration records. Conducts gage R&R studies Identifies inspection protocol and standards. Track supplier quality to ensure adherence to quality standards, capabilities, and specifications. Develop supplier's capabilities to insure SIC standards and requirements can be met Performs root cause analysis of quality issues often using advanced problem-solving tools. Works closely with all stakeholders and SIC team effectively resolve and prevent deficient quality issues Participates in internal and external audits Maintains all Quality records
REQUIREMENTS
Quality department experience CMM and /or dimensional measurement experience Internal auditing experience a plus Self-motivated and self-initiator Good communicator. Must have the ability to communicate within all levels of the organization Teamwork oriented to resolve problems and achieve goals Experience in the development and implementation of process and system improvements would be a plus. Proficient user of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) SAP knowledge would be a plus Automotive / Service industry experience a plus Willingness for local travel (approx. one day per week) Fluent in English with advanced reading and writing skills Visa holders/English as Second Language (ESL) individuals must take TOEFL exam and score above passing grade.
