Full-Time Position Summary We are seeking a highly motivated Strategic Sourcing Buyer to support sourcing initiatives for two Amphenol divisions. This shared-resource position will focus primarily on identifying, evaluating, and approving new suppliers while driving cost reduction, supplier performance, on-time delivery, and quality improvement initiatives. This role will support our division as well as another Amphenol division in Canada with operations in Nogales, Mexico also. Key Responsibilities Identify, evaluate, qualify, and approve new suppliers for components, raw materials, tooling, outside services, and manufacturing support needs Lead sourcing initiatives for two Amphenol divisions, including support for USA/Canada and Nogales, Mexico operations Review drawings, specifications, BOMs, and technical requirements to determine supplier capability Manage RFQs and evaluate supplier pricing, lead times, capacity, quality systems, and overall capability Negotiate pricing, lead times, payment terms, and commercial terms with suppliers Drive cost reduction initiatives through new supplier development, resourcing, supplier consolidation, and competitive quoting Monitor and manage supplier performance, including on-time delivery, quality, responsiveness, and corrective actions Work with Quality and Engineering to support supplier approvals, audits, samples, first article submissions, and corrective action follow-up Support supplier development activities to improve lead times, quality, capacity, and overall performance Communicate supplier risks, delays, quality issues, and cost savings opportunities to Purchasing, Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Management Maintain accurate supplier qualification records, quotes, pricing, lead times, and sourcing documentation Provide limited buyer support, including purchase order placement, supplier follow-up, and ERP updates as needed for sourcing projects Qualifications 3+ years of strategic sourcing, supplier development, purchasing, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment preferred Experience identifying, qualifying, and approving new suppliers Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, specifications, and BOMs Experience managing RFQs and evaluating supplier pricing, lead times, capacity, quality systems, and capabilities Strong cost reduction, negotiation, supplier performance, and problem-solving skills Experience managing supplier OTD, quality issues, and corrective actions Ability to work cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Operations, Planning, and Purchasing Experience working with domestic and international suppliers preferred ERP/MRP system experience preferred Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and standard business software Preferred Experience Manufacturing, automotive, connector, cable assembly, electronics, plastics, metals, machining, stamping, or industrial component experience Experience sourcing suppliers in the U.S., Mexico, Canada, Europe, India and China Familiarity with ISO quality systems, supplier audits, PPAP, APQP, first article inspections, or supplier corrective actions Experience supporting Mexico manufacturing operations or maquiladora supply chains is a plus Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is proactive, analytical, and supplier-focused. This person should be comfortable finding and approving new suppliers, reviewing technical requirements, negotiating cost reductions, and improving supplier on-time delivery and quality performance. They should be able to support multiple divisions while maintaining strong communication and follow-through. Pay:
$85,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
