Job Description

Job Posting Title Plant Supplier Quality Engineer Job Description Summary Dauch is seeking a Plant Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team in Bowling Green, Ohio. This fully onsite role is responsible for ensuring that all supplier-provided materials and components meet plant quality requirements. This role acts as the primary quality liaison between the manufacturing plant and the supplier base, driving root cause fixes, supplier performance improvement, and ensuring long-term process stability. The ideal candidate brings 3+ years of progressive experience supporting production stability, minimizing supplier-related disruptions, and driving continuous improvement across the supply chain. The candidate demonstrates strong knowledge of quality systems and supplier management, with experience in machining processes. Experience with supplier audits and development is highly desirable, along with proficiency in ERP systems and quality data analysis tools.
Job Description:
Monitor and manage supplier quality performance (PPM, cost of poor quality, on-time delivery impacts). Lead supplier corrective actions using structured problem-solving methodologies (8D, A3, 5-Why). Conduct supplier audits (process, system, layered process audits) as required. Support supplier selection and approval processes, including APQP activities. Act as the first point of contact for supplier-related quality issues impacting production. Lead containment actions for defective material (sorting, rework, supplier support). Ensure timely response and resolution to production disruptions caused by suppliers. Work cross-functionally with manufacturing, engineering, and logistics teams. Review and approve supplier PPAP submissions (Level 3 or as required). Ensure suppliers meet all launch readiness requirements (PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC). Drive root cause analysis and verify effectiveness of corrective actions. Identify and lead supplier continuous improvement initiatives. Implement error-proofing (poka-yoke) and process controls at supplier sites. Ensure supplier compliance with
IATF 16949, ISO
9001, and customer-specific requirements. Maintain proper documentation for audits and customer reviews. Support internal and external audits related to supplier quality. All other duties as assigned. Required Skills and Education Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field Strong knowledge of automotive core tools:
APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA
Proficiency in problem-solving methodologies (8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa) Understanding of
IATF 16949
requirements Ability to read engineering drawings and understand GD&T.
