Role:
We are seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE)
  • Launch Support to join a fast-paced automotive team supporting new product and vehicle launches.
This role will work directly with suppliers and cross-functional teams to ensure supplier readiness, successful APQP execution, PPAP approval, and on-time delivery of quality components for production launch. The ideal candidate has a strong background in supplier quality, launch activities, APQP, PPAP, and supplier development within the automotive industry. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys driving quality improvements while supporting critical program milestones. Key Responsibilities Manage the full APQP process for assigned suppliers from program kick-off through production launch. Drive PPAP submissions, approvals, and supplier readiness activities to support launch timing. Monitor supplier performance and readiness against key program milestones. Lead containment activities, corrective actions, and issue resolution for launch-related quality concerns. Coordinate GP-12 and incoming inspection requirements during launch phases. Support tooling validation, capacity verification, and production readiness activities. Conduct supplier audits, process assessments, and launch readiness reviews, including VDA 6.3 or equivalent methodologies. Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Program Management teams to ensure successful product launches. Review supplier quality documentation, control plans, PFMEAs, and process flow diagrams. Analyze supplier quality metrics and implement corrective actions to improve performance. Support a smooth transition from launch activities into series production. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical field, or equivalent industry experience. 5+ years of Supplier Quality Engineering experience within automotive manufacturing. Direct experience supporting new product launches, APQP activities, and PPAP approvals. Strong knowledge of supplier readiness assessments, launch quality processes, and automotive quality standards. Experience with GP-12, controlled shipping, containment, and corrective action management. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements. Experience with dimensional reporting, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), and process capability studies (Cpk/Ppk). Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to build effective relationships with suppliers and cross-functional teams. Preferred Experience Automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier experience. Experience supporting components such as stampings, extrusions, seating systems, plastics, seals, lighting, or other automotive assemblies. VDA 6.3 Auditor certification or audit experience.
