Job Description:
A Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of parts and materials sourced from suppliers. This role requires collaboration with internal teams and suppliers to maintain high standards of quality, support engineering objectives, and foster strong supplier relationships. The position involves travel, hands-on inspection, and process improvement to ensure products meet company and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Documentation Management:
Maintain organized, detailed records of internal and external quality documents.
Collaboration:
Work closely with engineering teams and suppliers to address quality-related issues.
Supplier Audits:
Conduct on-site visits to suppliers to ensure adherence to expectations and specifications. Travel required approximately 20%.
Equipment Maintenance:
Oversee the operation, calibration, and maintenance of measurement equipment, coordinating repairs or replacements as needed.
Quality Analysis:
Perform detailed inspections and analyses of: Incoming purchase parts. Parts in relation to design and functionality. Parts that fall outside of specified tolerances.
Process Development:
Create and implement evaluation processes for incoming parts to determine inspection frequency.
Supplier Coordination:
Work with suppliers and procurement teams to resolve issues related to non-conforming parts.
Relationship Building:
Maintain and improve key supplier relationships to drive continuous quality improvements. Qualifications Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or 5 years of equivalent work experience. Previous experience and working knowledge of crushing equipment and related processes. Strong understanding of business operations and their contribution to quality. Expertise in manufacturing equipment, processes, and machining. Proficiency in using various instruments to measure and inspect machined parts. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities. Experience in supplier quality management and relationship building. Knowledge of quality standards and compliance requirements in manufacturing.
