Job Title:
Industrial Engineer Job Description As an Industrial Engineer, you will be responsible for leading products through their lifecycle from prototype to production builds. You will oversee the implementation of customer documentation changes and internal change orders, report on the status of New Product Launch (NPL) activities, and use statistical tools to drive quality improvement within the customer team. You will also be tasked with driving both internal and external corrective action plans, participating actively in new customer and business development, and analyzing line return information to address manufacturing process issues. Responsibilities Lead manufacturing processes from prototype through production builds. Oversee customer documentation changes and internal change orders. Report on the status of New Product Launch (NPL) activities. Use statistical tools to lead quality improvement efforts. Drive corrective action plans both internally and externally. Participate in new customer and business development. Analyze line return information to address manufacturing process issues. Perform Design for Manufacturability and collaborate with Test Engineering on Design for Testability. Assist in developing project proposals and associated cost estimates. Execute transitional manufacturing requirements and process approaches. Develop in-depth knowledge of customer products to support transitional activities. Essential Skills Bachelor of Science in Engineering. Minimum of 3+ years experience in plant layout, line optimization, and leading projects. Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing and Lean Six Sigma practices. Experience with continuous improvement, process engineering, and industrial engineering. Ability to solve and document complex cross-departmental issues using structured problem-solving tools. Strong communication and presentation skills for both internal and external stakeholders. Understanding of electronic or mechanical components and systems, depending on education Additional Skills & Qualifications Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Effective interpersonal and multitasking skills. Strong organization and prioritization skills. High attention to detail. Ability to work with diverse groups. Demonstrates discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Familiarity with continuous improvement tools. Strong customer service and client focus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and WebEx conferencing software. Work Environment The position is based in Rochester, MN, providing a dynamic and collaborative work environment. You will be working with a diverse team, using a variety of productivity tools and technologies to achieve goals. This role requires professionalism and the ability to work independently while contributing to team objectives. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rochester, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
