Full-time Position Summary:
The packaging coordinator is responsible for managing all packaging materials, returnable containers, expendable packaging, and related inventory support production and customer shipments. This position works closely with scheduling, shipping, production, production, purchasing, and customers to ensure packaging availability and on-time delivery performance.
Essential Functions:
  • Coordinate all returnable and expendable packaging requirements for customer shipments.
  • Monitor packaging inventory levels and forecast future packaging needs.
  • Place orders for returnables and expendable packaging based on production schedules and customer demand.
  • Track returnable container movements between suppliers, customers, and internal facilities.
  • Maintain packaging tracking spreadsheets and reconcile packaging inventory regularly.
  • Coordinate cleaning, storage, and movement of returnable containers between locations.
  • Work with shipping and warehouse teams to ensure proper packaging is available for all scheduled shipments.
  • Issue and track packaging-related complaints or claims with customers and suppliers when shortages occur.
  • Support ASN accuracy by ensuring correct packaging configurations are used.
  • Maintain packaging master data and related system information.
  • Utilize customer portals, including the BMW B2B portal, to reconcile returnable packaging inventory, shipment activity, and customer balances.
  • Coordinate packaging changes for new launches, engineering changes, and customer requirements.
  • Work with purchasing on blanket purchase orders and supplier communication for packaging materials.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives related to packaging efficiency, cost reduction, and inventory control.
  • Support inventory counts and audits for packaging materials and returnables.
  • Ensure compliance with customer packaging specifications and internal procedures.
Required Education & Experience:
  • Associate degree or equivalent preferred.
  • 2+ years' customer service experience or inventory management experience preferred.
  • Previous experience and demonstrated ability with EDI processes preferred.
  • Automotive customer service experience preferred.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office and ERP systems preferred.

Office and production/warehouse environment
Physical Requirements:
Candidate must be able to regularly walk, stand, bend, stoop, climb ladder, and use hands and fingers. Candidate must be able to regularly lift up to 25 lbs. Must be able to read and speak English.
Pay:
$18.00
