Job Description:
Quality Engineer Position Overview:
The Quality Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring that all incoming raw materials, components, and purchased parts meet the organization's quality standards. This position involves overseeing inspection activities, maintaining thorough documentation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee incoming inspection activities for raw materials, components, and purchased parts to ensure compliance with quality standards. Define, implement, and ensure adherence to inspection criteria, sampling plans, and acceptance standards. Review, maintain, and archive material certifications, inspection records, and supplier documentation to ensure traceability and compliance. Collaborate with the Director of Quality and suppliers to investigate and resolve quality issues, develop containment plans, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Conduct supplier quality assessments and audits to evaluate supplier capabilities and performance. Analyze inspection data and trends to identify areas for improvement in the supply chain quality. Support new product introductions by coordinating inspection requirements and quality standards with suppliers and internal teams. Assist in the development and maintenance of quality documentation, including procedures, work instructions, and quality plans. Participate in cross-functional quality improvement initiatives to enhance product reliability and customer satisfaction. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies related to quality management systems.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field. Proven experience in quality engineering, preferably in manufacturing or supply chain environments. Strong knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar. Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC), sampling plans, and inspection methodologies. Excellent problem-solving skills and experience with root cause analysis and CAPA processes. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with suppliers and internal teams. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills. Experience with quality management software and inspection tools is a plus.
Additional Information:
This role may require occasional travel to supplier sites and manufacturing facilities.
Pay:
$50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
