Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Production Support Engineer to support critical enterprise applications in a 24/7 production environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving production issues while ensuring system stability and SLA compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor daily batch jobs and online systems using tools like Control-M and SDSF Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, abends, and job failures in a timely manner Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes for recurring issues Provide L2/L3 support for mainframe applications Work closely with development, QA, and infrastructure teams for issue resolution Handle incident, problem, and change management through tools like ServiceNow or JIRA Support deployment activities and validate post-production releases Maintain documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures Participate in on-call rotation and provide off-hours support when required
Required Skills:
Strong experience in
COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2
Hands-on experience with
TSO/ISPF, SDSF
Knowledge of job scheduling tools like Control-M / CA-7 Experience in handling production support (L2/L3) Strong debugging and problem-solving skills Familiarity with incident management tools (ServiceNow, JIRA
