DESCRIPTION
We are looking for an Engineer-In-Charge (EIC) of Broadcast Production to support the growing needs of CBS Sports Network. The ideal candidate will have substantial broadcast engineering knowledge and hybrid experience in broadcast IT support as well as post-production video workflows. In addition, they will know on-air operations, automation, digital video and audio control systems, graphics, and non-linear editing systems. Responsibilities are not limited to maintenance and installation; the team designs and implements solutions that frequently outperform original scope and vendor specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Configure, service, and support all aspects of on-air and post-production broadcast automation systems, specifically video configurations and control platforms.
- Provide technical (hardware, software, and networking) support for NY-based Post Production facility including live control rooms (on-prem and remote), live Studios (on-prem and remote) and all supporting ingest, edit and playback workflows.
- Coordinate and execute new project initiatives while protecting air and providing standard day-to-day troubleshooting and maintenance functions on all broadcast network systems.
- Provide system integration in both production and post-production infrastructure, including but not limited to: System build-out and integration, cable fabrication, cable installation, equipment installation, and documentation creation/revision.
- Document system and facility change to increase visibility and collaboration between operations and engineering partners.

- At least 5 years of On-Air and/or Post Production systems experience.
- Experience working in and supporting a Live control room environment.
- Experience working in and supporting Live and Remote studio environments, including remote control of camera systems, video routing and all aspects of Video-over-IP transmission systems.
- Experience using and troubleshooting production/post-production systems including: GV Orbit/NVision routing (ST2110 and legacy SDI), Sony
MLS-X1, GV
K-frame, Ross Ultrix/Carbonite switching, Chyron, VizRT, Ross Expression graphics creation and playback, RTS Adams and M-frame based comms
- Experience supporting of ingest and playback systems including Dalet Brio, EVS Instant Replay, Abekas Tria, Evertz DreamCatcher
- Experience with network-based video encoding and transport platforms including Appear, GV AMPP, Motorola, Harmonic, OpenGear, BitFire and Live U
- Experience supporting Adobe Creative cloud non-linear editing and file-based workflows
- Working knowledge of Telestream Vantage Transcode Systems
- Excellent documentation, communication, & organization skills.

- Knowledge of Network infrastructure and operations, including subnet and VLAN implementations, where needed.
- Knowledge of VMWare Virtualization.
- Working knowledge of broadcast in cloud architecture (AWS, Azure, GCP, Net Insight Nimbra)
- Familiarity with IP addressing, file and directory permissions, and networking concepts and terminologies.
