Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Senior Automation-Industrial Controls Engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced automation solutions within manufacturing environments. This pivotal role involves integrating robotics, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and control systems to optimize production processes, enhance efficiency, and ensure compliance with industry standards such as Lean manufacturing ISO. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for innovation, mechanical aptitude, and a strong background in industrial controls engineering to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence. Responsibilities Lead the design, programming, and commissioning of automation systems utilizing PLCs, distributed control systems (DCS), and robotics such as Fanuc and other leading brands. Develop detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints using AutoCAD and SolidWorks to support system installation and troubleshooting. Program and maintain robotic systems, including robot programming for manufacturing tasks involving vision inspection systems and tooling automation. Conduct root cause analysis on complex control system issues to identify solutions that improve reliability and performance. Collaborate with mechanical engineers to integrate mechanical components with control systems, ensuring seamless operation of machining tools and tooling setups. Perform system testing, validation, and documentation to ensure compliance with industry standards like CGMP while supporting lean manufacturing initiatives. Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and technicians on schematic reading, blueprint interpretation, and system troubleshooting. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; advanced certifications are a plus. Extensive experience with industrial automation including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), HMI systems, and distributed control systems (DCS). Proven expertise in robot programming with Fanuc or similar robotic platforms; experience with robotics integration in manufacturing is highly desirable. Strong mechanical knowledge encompassing machining processes, tooling design, schematics interpretation, AutoCAD drawings, and SolidWorks modeling. Familiarity with vision inspection systems for quality assurance applications. Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis on complex control issues within manufacturing settings. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and CGMP standards to ensure process efficiency and compliance. Excellent communication skills for cross-disciplinary collaboration and technical documentation. Ability to lead a team with special projects. US Citizenship required. Pay:
$110,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
