Job Description

Reimagine What's Possible Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., has an opening for a Senior Production Engineer supporting the Air Separation Unit (ASU) facility in Cleveland, OH. The ASU consists of two large air separation plants, an Argon purification plant, and a product liquefier. The Oxygen, Nitrogen and Argon produced at the site are delivered to customers via pipelines or by tanker trucks. You will have broad engineering responsibilities supporting the Site Manager. This role will require the candidate to gain an understanding of all aspects of the site's production and distribution responsibilities. The specific focus of the role will be to lead and initiate high level reliability and efficiency projects and support the team in achieving our safety, environmental, and operational excellence goals. The position is a good combination of hands-on work, project work, and desk work. This includes work involving data analysis and tracking, systems integration, and reviews of both Air Products and external engineering standards. The hands-on work includes large rotating machinery, cryogenic equipment and control systems. Key responsibilities for this position include: Support of all aspects of day-to-day operations, including troubleshooting plant process problems, directly supporting daily plant activities, month end close and leading/executing plant projects. Actively contribute to a strong safety culture, including participation in the site's Basic Safety Process (BSP) with a goal of zero injuries. Champion Operational Discipline and help the Operations team excel through alarm management, effective management of change, and maintaining accurate procedures, drawings, and related documentation. Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations to identify and eliminate sources of undesired performance. Interface with various internal stakeholders, including site operations and maintenance, engineering support, and the business to achieve productivity, reliability, and profitability targets. Drive facility's operational efficiency and plant reliability initiatives for a wide variety of assets, equipment, and systems. Support KPI monitoring at the plant level which includes work process development, data generation and analysis, and the reporting infrastructure. Facilitate the electronic Management of Change (eMOC) work process through development, implementation, and timely closure of eMOCs. Qualifications /
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in engineering (preferably Mechanical or Chemical) Minimum 3 years of experience in production. Seasoned leadership and experience in engineering-based roles supporting industrial gas or related production facilities. Track record in driving continuous improvement through analytical reviews of complex systems. Experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Experience leading Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) is a plus. Experience working closely with front line Operations and Maintenance personnel at an operating facility. Experience with ASU and/or LHy processes is a plus. Demonstrated track record of success on in all aspects of Environmental, Health and Safety, and Quality. Ability to communicate effectively to a broad audience of varying levels of technical understanding. Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, diverse team setting. Self-motivated and well organized with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities independently. What's In It for
