Manufacturing Operations / Process Simulation Engineer About the Role We are seeking a highly driven professional who can take holistic ownership of solving operational challenges through creative, data-driven solutions in a fast-paced, resource-constrained environment. The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguity, adapts quickly to changing priorities, and plays a critical role in ensuring products are built and delivered on time while maintaining stringent quality standards. This individual acts as the connective tissue across operational stakeholders to drive production forward and enable scalable manufacturing success. Key Responsibilities Capture current manufacturing processes-including physical constraints, business rules, and decision logic-into a 3D simulation-based virtual factory to serve as an operational knowledge base. Develop feasible plans and schedules across shop floor, warehouse, factory, and supply chain operations, ensuring alignment with resource capacity, material availability, and timelines . Maintain an adaptive, data-driven virtual factory model that reflects real-time conditions and supports forecasting for transformation initiatives and investment decisions. Own the design and optimization of production lines and workstation layouts for both low-rate and full-rate production using a data-driven approach. Identify process variability, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies related to layout, equipment, staffing, and inputs; partner cross-functionally to resolve constraints. Translate operational metrics and KPIs into actionable improvements, including: Cycle time Throughput Capacity & utilization First pass yield Develop and maintain capacity plans, line balancing models, staffing allocations, and time standards for manufacturing operations. Drive end-to-end operational improvements supporting next-generation products as production scales. Operate across both execution and strategic planning, helping shape the future state of manufacturing operations. Required Qualifications 8+ years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Experience with one or more of the following: Discrete event simulation tools (e.g., Technomatix Plant Simulation, FlexSim, Simio, ProModel) Object-oriented programming (Python, R, C++, Java, etc.) Working with large datasets (SQL or NoSQL) Ability to interpret technical documentation, including: Facility and assembly drawings Manufacturing specifications and procedures Experience supporting manufacturing processes across: Electronics Mechanical and electromechanical assemblies System testing and/or structural work Strong ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to export-controlled information or facilities Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field Experience designing or launching new production lines or factory environments Hands-on experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma Familiarity with data visualization tools or advanced SQL usage Proven ability to own and optimize entire value chains , delivering measurable and sustainable improvements Experience with enterprise systems such as ERP, WMS, or MES Understanding of stochastic vs. deterministic modeling and appropriate application Strong data analysis skills, including: Trend identification Data filtering and visualization Knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes, including: 3D CAD modeling of parts and assemblies 3D factory layout design Manufacturing process planning for fabricated and complex assemblies Simulation of assembly processes, ergonomics, and discrete event systems Statistical analysis and statistical process control (SPC)
