What You Will Do We're looking for a hands-on Continuous Improvement (CI) Engineer to drive operational excellence through the implementation of Lean tools, problem-solving methodologies, and process improvements. You will execute projects and initiatives that improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance across the plant. In this role you will work closely with Operations, R D, Quality, and Maintenance to translate formulas into robust production processes, applying food science principles to manage variability, shelf life, and product performance.
Responsibilities:
Build, automate, and optimize production data collection and reporting tools to provide real time visibility into safety, quality, delivery, and cost metrics. Identify improvement opportunities through data analysis, direct observation, and feedback from production and support teams. Facilitate and lead RCCM (Root Cause - Countermeasure) and A3 problem-solving activities to resolve chronic issues. Implement and sustain 5S workplace organization and visual management; plan and perform regular 5S audits. Issue, track, and verify completion of corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs). Support standardization of work instructions and processes to reduce variability and improve productivity. Develop and deliver training sessions on basic CI tools and methodologies to frontline staff and supervisors. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize and execute improvement projects. Monitor and report on project progress and realized savings or performance improvements. Promote a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging employee engagement and participation. Who You Are You are a hands‑on, problem solving, solutions‑driven Continuous Improvement Engineer with deep expertise in food, packaging or a related industry. You have a continuous improvement mindset and you use data, feedback from production and other members to formulate new processes. You thrive in continuous improvement, partnering with cross‑functional teams to turn technical concepts into practical, high‑impact manufacturing solutions.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, industrial technology, operations, or a related field preferred. Equivalent practical experience will be considered. 3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment required (food, packaging, or related industries preferred). Demonstrated experience with Lean methodologies (A3 problem solving, 5S, standard work, Kaizen events). Six Sigma certification or training (Green Belt or higher) is a plus. Proven track record of implementing and sustaining improvement initiatives. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and drive initiatives from concept to completion. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); knowledge of basic data analysis tools preferred. Strong sense of ownership and follow-through Detail-oriented, organized, and systematic Continuous learner mindset Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trust across functions Effective communication and coaching skills to influence and train others at all levels.
