Job Description

Ameron is a leader in the manufacture of poles for street lighting and traffic control. Our extensive line of Ameron™ brand products can be used in residential areas and commercial developments, including streets, highways, shopping centers and pedestrian pathways. From industrial to DOT to municipal, we have just the right pole. We are seeking a motivated sophomore or junior-level engineering student to join our Product Engineering team for the summer. This role will focus on improving and standardizing production drawings while gaining hands-on experience working alongside design engineers in a manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Assist with updating and validating Bills of Material (BOMs) within our ERP/MRP system (JEE) Support BOM uploads and data cleanup efforts for active projects Work with engineering and operations teams to ensure accurate material and routing data Assist in developing and refining 3D models for traffic structure products Help identify opportunities to improve data accuracy and workflow efficiency Support CI initiatives focused on standardization and process improvement What You'll Gain Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems and how they drive manufacturing Exposure to real-world production planning and scheduling challenges Experience working at the intersection of engineering, operations, and data systems Opportunity to contribute to meaningful process improvements Qualifications Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field (Sophomore or Junior preferred) Interest in manufacturing systems, data, or process improvement Familiarity with Excel; CAD experience (Inventor preferred) is a plus Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Detail-oriented with a desire to improve processes Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
