LOCATION
Tigard, ORSALARY:
$38.00 per hour, depending on experience.
SCHEDULE
Full-Time, Day Shift 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
ISO 9001
Quality Management System.
- Lead internal audits, external certification audits, surveillance audits, customer audits, and recertification activities.
- Develop audit schedules, audit plans, audit reports, and corrective action follow-up plans.
- Support manufacturing operations through real-time root cause analysis and corrective action.
- Lead investigations for internal nonconformances, customerplaints, supplier quality issues, and RMAs.
- Develop and manage corrective and preventive actions using 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto Analysis, and related quality tools.
- Track corrective action metrics, identify recurring quality issues, and help prevent repeat escapes.
- Lead Material Review Board activities and help coordinate disposition of nonconforming material.
- Serve as a primary quality contact for customers on quality concerns, corrective actions, quality meetings, and audits.
- Prepare and submit customer 8D reports, corrective action responses, quality surveys, scorecards, and portal updates.
- Support First Article Inspection activities in accordance with customer and AS9102 requirements.
- Own and administer the calibration program for inspection, test, and measurement equipment.
- Coordinate external calibration vendors, maintain calibration records, and ensure traceability requirements are met.
- Analyze scrap, rework, yield, defect trends, cost of quality, and other quality metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
- Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing scrap, improving yield, reducing rework, and strengthening process controls.
- Use Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to support sustainable process improvements.
- Develop, revise, maintain, and control quality procedures, work instructions, forms, SOPs, and quality standards.
- Manage document control processes, approval workflows, revision history, training matrix updates, and retention requirements.
- Partner with subject matter experts to ensure employees have access to current, accurate, and audit-ready documentation.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years of Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting or maintaining an
ISO 9001
Quality Management System.
- Experience with internal audits, external certification audits, surveillance audits, or customer quality audits.
- Experience managing corrective action investigations and preparing customer-facing 8D responses.
- Strong understanding of root cause analysis tools, including 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto Analysis, and FMEA.
- Experience with calibration, metrology, or measurement equipment programs.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T.
- Strong technical writing, document control, and audit-ready record management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Point, and experience with ERP or MRP systems.
- Excellentmunication skills with the ability to work effectively with customers, auditors, suppliers, operators, engineers, and leadership.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer or Certified Quality Auditor.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.
- Experience in aerospace, semiconductor, medical device, precision machining, or high-technology manufacturing.
- Experience with Statistical Process Control and process capability analysis.
- Familiarity with Lean tools such as kaizen, 5S, value stream mapping, and poka-yoke.
- Experience supporting supplier quality programs or conducting supplier audits.
- Experience with electronic document control platforms.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- This position works in a professional precision manufacturing environment with both office and production floor responsibilities.
- Requires frequent use ofputers and standard office equipment.
- Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
- Manufacturing areas may include noise and material exposure; safety glasses and hearing protection may be required in applicable zones.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
- Occasional travel may be required for customer visits, supplier audits, training, or certification audit activities.
