The company manufactures and services balers, compactors, and provides parts and resources to customers. PTR is seeking a Plant Engineer to ensure the safe, efficient operation of our facility by maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving machinery and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will develop preventative maintenance programs, manage equipment installations, and optimize production processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement preventive/predictive maintenance strategies for machinery to minimize downtime. Troubleshoot equipment failures, conducting root cause analysis to resolve technical issues. Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment failures. Lead facility upgrades, equipment installations, plant expansions, and capital projects. Analyze production processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize energy usage. Directly manage the maintenance team Collaborate and coordinate with production, engineering, and external vendors/contractors. Maintain accurate maintenance records, technical drawings, blueprints, and performance reports.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering Demonstrated ability to directly supervise and develop technical or maintenance teams 5 plus years of experience as a manufacturing or industrial engineer, preferably in a heavy equipment manufacturing environment. Extensive knowledge of manufacturing equipment and automation Strong background in lean manufacturing Experience in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other 3-D modeling software Excellent organizational, problem solving and communication skills Ability to manage multiple projects while staying on budget and schedule
