Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
Manufacturing Production Process Engineering focuses on designing, developing, and implementingnew or revised production processes for the efficient/economical mass production of goods including:Designing arrangement of manufacturing equipment to ensure most efficient and productive layout.
Designing the sequence of production operations, specifying procedures for the fabrication of applicabletools and equipment, and adapting machinery in response to factory conditions. Conducting teststhroughout all stages of production to determine control over applicable variables andtroubleshooting/solving production problems. Providing guidance to product design engineering ontechnical specifications that will best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Ensuring thatproduction processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Individuals in these roles primarily focus on directing, leveraging, and guiding the work of others,and mobilizing resources. Responsible for the monitoring and achievement of operational and/or financial results for theirarea of responsibility. Responsible for people management actions such as rewarding, training, anddeveloping employees. Progression within the levels reflects increase in scope and responsibilities as well as growth inbusiness and industry experience, process and people leadership capabilities, and broad technicalexpertise. Supervises entry level and experienced professionals and potentially para-professionalemployees. Sets goals and objectives for team members for achievement of operational results. Works on issues of general scope. Problems faced may be difficult but typically not overly complex. Analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of various factors and a general understandingof principles in own discipline and potentially a basic knowledge of other disciplines. Supports team with day-to-day activities. Applies general understanding of the business and coordinates with other areas to achievedepartment objectives. Ensures policies, practices and procedures are understood and followed by direct reports,customers, and stakeholders. Develops and administers schedules, performance requirements. Assignments are defined by activities and objectives; work is reviewed for completeness and foradequacy in meeting objectives. Decisions impact work processes and outcomes. Errors in judgment or failure to achieve results may cause delays in schedules and potentiallyexpenditure of resources. Interacts frequently with internal personnel and may interact occasionally with externalpersonnel. Participates and presents at meetings with internal representatives. Interaction typically concerns exchanging information and/or scheduling issues.Safe Quality Food Responsibilities for all employees: Follow all Plant rules, Processes, Hygiene, and Allergens procedures, related to production ofSafe Quality Foods. Report to person of authority to record any potentially unsafe conditions which may result inunsafe foods or noncompliance to SQF related procedures. Participate in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions (from customer complaints, SQF audits,validation, and verification activities) as required. Follow all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF). Report any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority torecord and/or correct the situation.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree or related work experience required in lieu of degree.The candidate must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily, with orwithout a reasonable accommodation. Graphic Packaging retains the right to change or assign otherduties to this position.
