State College, Pennsylvania, United States Talascend is currently seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in State College, Pennsylvania. Overview This role involves collaborating with various cross-functional teams to ensure supplier quality and the effective management of supplier performance, documentation, and quality improvement initiatives. Responsibilities Collaborate with supplier quality, design engineering, sourcing, and manufacturing teams to execute conditionally qualified supplier actions.
Support the lead supplier quality engineer by updating conditional qualification plans, incoming inspection plans, and site-level containment plans with accuracy.
Update drawing markups as directed by the engineering leader.
Monitor, document, and improve supplier performance and part quality, ensuring timely follow-up and closure of actions.
Perform approved supplier list maintenance activities to ensure alignment with purchasing controls.
Participate in material review board meetings and partner with cross-functional teams to dispose of defective material and engage suppliers for corrective actions.
Assist in supplier contract negotiations in collaboration with sourcing teams.
Work effectively with global teams across multiple time zones to support efficient communication and coordination.
Use productivity tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant applications to support documentation and reporting. Qualifications Proficiency in design applications or drawing review software.
Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
Cultural awareness to work seamlessly with global partners across regions and time zones.
Proactive ownership to drive tasks forward and ensure timely resolution.
Adaptability to manage shifting priorities, urgent issues, and dynamic business needs.
