What You Will Do The F135 Engine Design & System Integration (EDSI) organization is seeking a Production Support Lead to provide technical leadership and integration direction for F135 production activities. The Lead is responsible for driving root cause investigations, guiding cross‑functional teams, enabling stable production throughput, and ensuring that corrective actions meet program technical requirements. This role is accountable for ensuring production issues are addressed with urgency, rigor, and strong cross‑functional alignment. Serve as the primary EDSI approver for SDO and FPN packages, ensuring technical correctness and robust RCCA Participate in Problem Resolution Team (PRT) to ensure packages meet content and quality requirements for DCMA submission Support triage and troubleshooting of complex or high‑impact production issues, including on‑the‑floor technical direction Provide production issue status, trends, and risk assessments at bi‑weekly Chief Engineer meetings Support cross‑functional engagement with Quality and CIPTs to drive escape investigations and implement sustainable corrective actions Champion audit readiness activities, build‑record integrity reviews, and compliance verification Provide configuration, operability, and integration guidance to internal and external partners Lead Engineering Change (EC) impact assessments for production hardware, flow, and configuration alignment Identify systemic trends and drive corrective action plans to improve production stability and quality Represent EDSI on Discipline Councils, CIPTs, and production support working groups Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing escapes and improving technical processes Mentor junior Production & Field Support engineers and support technical capability development within the discipline Travel up to 10%. Qualifications You Must Have Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) 8 years of engineering experience with demonstrated leadership in production, integration, or quality investigations or an Advanced degree with 5 years of engineering experience with demonstrated leadership in production, integration, or quality investigations Demonstrated experience leading cross‑functional technical investigations Qualifications We Prefer Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering Experience leading F135 production, sustainment, or propulsion system investigations Direct experience reviewing or approving
SDO/FPN/PRT/RCCA
packages Experience with escape management systems, quality investigations, and audit compliance Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance Deep familiarity with propulsion system fundamentals, configuration control, and engine build processes Experience leading continuous improvement or Lean initiatives

Onsite:
Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee's personal responsibility. As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure hiring process, candidates may be asked to attend select steps of the interview process in-person at one of our office locations, regardless of whether the role is designated as on-site, hybrid or remote. The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
