Hybrid - Dearborn, MI (4 days onsite + supplier site travel)Pay:
$42.30/hourWe are seeking a highly skilled Industrial Engineer to support battery manufacturing engineering programs with a focus on industrial engineering studies, capacity analysis, time studies, and ergonomic risk reduction for new model vehicle launches. This role plays a key part in ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant assembly workstation design across powertrain and battery manufacturing environments.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in ergonomics, industrial engineering, and manufacturing systems, with the ability to evaluate complex assembly processes using digital human modeling tools.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform ergonomic assessments for new model programs using Design for Ergonomics (DFE) proceduresProvide technical guidance on ergonomic standards for assembly workstation design and implementationConduct high-risk ergonomic reviews with cross-functional teams including Safety, Product Design, and Industrial EngineeringEvaluate and document ergonomic risk factors across tools, processes, and workstationsUtilize digital human modeling tools such as Siemens Teamcenter, Process Simulate, JACK, and Ergo WebSupport Electrical Connector Reviews (ECR), Joint Connector Reviews (JCR), supplier run-offs, and plant launch activitiesIdentify and implement ergonomic improvements through benchmarking and best practicesContribute to development and refinement of ergonomic engineering standardsParticipate in global ergonomic and manufacturing engineering meetingsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Kinesiology, or related fieldMinimum 3 years of experience in ergonomics and manufacturing environmentsExperience conducting ergonomic analysis and industrial engineering studiesStrong analytical, project management, and communication skillsExperience working in cross-functional, team-based engineering environmentsProficiency with engineering tools and computer-based analysis systemsPreferred QualificationsExperience with Siemens Teamcenter, Process Simulate, or Ergo WebExperience in automotive or battery manufacturing environmentsAbility to work in hybrid engineering and plant-based settingsFamiliarity with digital human modeling tools and virtual simulation environmentsEmployee BenefitsMedical, dental, vision, and pet insurance401(k) Retirement Savings PlansEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Commuter/Parking AccountsPeople PerksHealth Savings Account (HSA)AD & D InsuranceThis opportunity is ideal for candidates seeking ergonomics engineer, industrial engineer, manufacturing engineer, or human factors engineering roles in advanced automotive and battery production environments.
